Hugo T.
Mullins, LCSW, a Georgia-licensed
social worker with over 25 years of
social services experience, is the founder and director of Family Ties.
He has been involved in the specific field of family preservation since
its introduction in Georgia in 1988. Hugo has facilitated local and
national workshops on family preservation, reunification and parent aide
services. He was instrumental in the development of a demonstration
program for youth returning from detention centers in NYC. The success
of this program led the NY State Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) to
adopt the program as a permanent model for youth reintegration into the
community. Hugo is a former staff member of Laurel Heights Hospital for
which Family Ties provided therapeutic, home-based counseling to youth
with severe emotional and behavioral problems and/or a history of sexual
abuse.
Family Ties employs Master-level social workers and Bachelor-level
parent/behavioral aides trained in family preservation. All staff
receive on-going training, both internal and from outside resources.
Our clinical staff also includes licensed supervisors, Spanish-speaking
counselors, UGA interns and volunteers. A full time
administrative/clerical staff exists to support each program and its
clinical staff.
